Gucci’s sire needs no introduction, Hercules has produced MANY top dogs in the sport, most notably the current WUSV World Champion Nitra vom Eisernen Kreuz IGP 3. Gucci shows good drives and good possession. She is a sweetheart around people. Guicci is progressing in OB and Tracking: she is likewise progressing in her bite work. With a top pedigree, Guicci’s lineage needs no introduction! Gucci’s structure is unparalleled. Her strong toppline and near perfect angulation on back legs points are the result of selecting across generations for strong hips and elbows. One of our adult German Shepherd females, Gucci ticks all the boxes. As German Shepherd breeders, Gucci represents that qualities we strive to produce. Her hindquarter structure is consistent with some of the highest caliber west and East German working line German Shepherd dogs.
A quick comparison with the AKC standard for American show line German Shepherds will reveal in short order the unique distinctives of the working line GSD’s. Where both the American and the west German show lines tend to sport an exaggerated roach, the working line German Shepherd dog structure might be described as having more in common with a Timber wolf than the show lines. Consistent with the language one will hear from any anatomy and physiology teacher, form follows function. While show line breeders have (arguably) determined the extreme roach back is “beautiful,” this beauty comes at what cost? Research shows this roach back “form” often leads to hip dysphasia. With working line GSD’s, health must come first! Without health, the working dog cannot do the job for which it has been bred. More than mere companions, any German Shepherd puppy we produce must meet minimum health standards. Without superior health, the goal of “working” is simply not possible. With this end in mind, none of our adult German Shepherd males and none of our adult German Shepherd females come from show lines. Each of our dogs is carefully chosen from bloodlines that have been meticulously selected from generations of proven health and sound structure. Gucci is an amazing example of what we believe typifies a high caliber representation of what we strive to produce.
